CREATION ASTRID OLSSON, is my own creative universe, where building anything crazy, loud or almost impossible is allowed.

In mixed techniques, from tailoring, pattern deconstruction, sculpture & montage I search to portray the creatures I see around me.

Drawing inspiration from dance &movement, the body, spine & the rotation is always in the center.

Lately the energy of layering & assemblage becomes more important, merging from fashion design & entering the world of artistry.

As an artist, un-tied to a fashion calendar all possibilities open up. Looking to create the in-between with sculpture, dance & transformation as lead words.

My latest work is mostly seen in avant-garde costume designs for artists & the theater,  always in collaboration with the performing artist.

Lately my heart has been calling to get my hands more dirty, literally. And trough painting in acrylics mixed with chalk & charcoal my emotions are transformed

into paintings & siluettes. Personas with a strong message. Feelings show up as movement and breath as surrender. My art suddenly is full of colors,

which is new in my otherwise black and white universe.
